Matfield Station is located in the heart of the Flint Hills, the largest remaining stand of the tallgrass prairie that once covered most of the Great Plains.
Population density in Chase County is 3.5 people per square mile, so naturally unobstructed prairie and back roads are our biggest attractions.
Dine, fill up with gas, or buy convenience items in Cottonwood Falls and Strong City 15 minutes to the north. Groceries are available in Emporia or El Dorado, both larger towns with typical commercial options.
